Today we were honored to have a visit from the fabulous and talented Bonnie and her adorable son Teo. The weather wasn't at it's best so I thought I would attempt making playdough for the boys to mess around with. I have many memories of homemade playdough as a child. It didn't disappoint, the boys had a ball squishing, rolling, mushing, tasting...... I forgot to take any photographs of 'playdough action' because I think the mum's were enjoying it just as much as the boys. It felt so therapeutic rolling it between the palms of your hands, the smell bringing back child hood memories of winter days stuck inside on the farm with the coal range burning in the kitchen.... ANYWAY...
if you would like to make some playdough take
2 cups boiling water
2 tablespoons cream of tartar
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1/2 cup salt
2 cups flour
food colouring of choice (mine is usually red)
Mix first 4 ingredients, then beat in the flour and add a few drops of food colouring. Knead well, adding more flour as necessary.
When not in use wrap in cling film and store in the fridge, should last up to 2 weeks.
