Pinterest ~ FAIL

 

Well, this is the PIN

Super cute fossil cookies.

Charlie has a friend staying for a night and I thought this would be fun activity for them to do.

They collected small dinosaurs, shells and fossils and cleaned them up while I made the cookie dough.

 

I have to admit I didn't make the recipe from the PIN and just made my usual cookie dough.

 

They rolled small pieces of dough and flattened them slightly before pressing gently into the cookie.

 

They looked good on the baking tray.

 

I cooked them as usual but I thought at the time that this wasn't going to work

~ too buttery (a shortbread biscuit would be better)

~ cookies too big and thick and they spread out while in the oven.

But you know what..... 

They didn't mind, they had fun making them and they still had cookies for morning tea at the park.

I agree, stiffer dough would hold its shape better. But they loved it so still all good. :)
