I'm not a hater of winter and I feel slightly short changed as the winter wasn't too harsh and brief. I think I wore my favourite green vintage wool coat twice.
This winter I've been working hard on my bonnets, introducing the Woodland range including rabbits and bear eared bonnets. They have been very popular and feel overwhelmed with your continuing support of repurposing and handmade.
During winter Ian lost his mother and the children's grandmother. She had been sick for awhile and it was a blessing the illness didn't cause her long suffering. The children has coped well and reminds me once again how resilient children are.
We have had plenty of winter adventures, and my Instagram account is probably the best place to catch up on where we have been in the past few months.
Sadie has also had a birthday, turning nine. She's had a rough year with her traumatic accidents (cutting her arm so severely she had to have surgery, then a few months later breaking both arms and then loosing her grandmother) I wanted to give her a wonderful birthday party. The theme was unicorns and she also wanted a sweet buffet. Her and her friends had a wonderful time.
But that said spring is such a joy. The blossom, daffodils and magnolias are blooming and the there are lambs everywhere. I'm back to making sun bonnets for the warmer days ahead, using lots of florals and colours.
I like to make goals for myself ..... one was to start walking regularly which I have been doing and loving! Taking more time here is one, taking more care of my Felt and Etsy shops and also I need to desperately find time for reading again. They seem such small accomplishments, but with the children, keeping the house, running the café and photography on the side, time seems to disappear.
We as a family have also made plans for our future which will mean a lot of planning, hard work and excitement ahead of us.
