Inspired from this website, Sadie made her own shadow theatre from a box and a pillowcase.
She used shadow puppets purchased from Felt last Christmas, but is keen to make some of her own.
Sadie decorating her frame
Some reinforcement for the sides.
The parchment paper we had wasn't wide enough,
so I sacrificed a white pillowcase which worked brilliantly and will be more durable.
The first show
We watched performances all morning involving a princess, a castle and dinosaurs.
I've been working on a couple of new things for my Felt shop for the spring.
The children and the way they play are my constant inspiration.
I know if they love and enjoy them, other children will like them too.
All available from my Felt shop here.

We have the most wonderful art shop in Greytown ~ The Village Art Shop. I bought Sadie art supplies for Xmas and the next day I found out I had won their Facebook competition.
I haven't had nice art supplies for a very long time, so it's been lovely to be able to draw together.
She can teach me some things.
The weather has been unusual, sunshine one day, rain the next, windy, then another rainy day and then we go back to sunshine. You get to a point where you just have to follow through with your plans either way.
This day we had planned to go berry picking....It started to drizzle, but it was warm and the berries tasted good.
Mr palmer was pleased to see us and had to make sure the kids were eating plenty while picking by getting them to poke their tongues out. They thought this was great.
Oscar was at a birthday party and was a bit put out when he saw that the older kids had been berry picking without him, so went again the next day. Only this time we picked berries in the sunshine and it got very hot.
Sadie decided to sketch and leave the hard work to the boys.
Rain or shine ~ either way this little one thought they were pretty good.
This is our story of growing up in New Zealand
